Become a Volunteer
The research conducted at the Center for Research on Neurological Diseases (CIEN) is made possible thanks to the participation of thousands of people who voluntarily visit its facilities on a regular basis to undergo clinical, cognitive, and neuroimaging tests, among others.
What does it mean to be a volunteer in a research project?
Participating in a research study is an act of generosity that, in some cases, requires a long-term commitment and does not provide any direct medical benefit. However, through the tests conducted on each participant, the research team can collect valuable information to identify biomarkers and risk factors. This enables them to design prevention strategies for Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions, such as Frontotemporal Dementia. It also helps advance the study of cognitive function changes during healthy and pathological aging.
