CIEN researchers represent the Institution at the HAI 2025 Congress
)
Dr. Michel Grothe, Director of the Neuroimaging Unit, and Dr. Jesús Silva, Coordinator of the same unit, both from the Spanish Center for Neurological Disease Research (CIEN), will actively participate in the prestigious Human Amyloid Imaging (HAI) 2025 Congress, which will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from January 15 to 17. The 17th edition of the congress will be held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, bringing together leading international experts in amyloid research and neurodegenerative diseases.
CIEN researchers will present four papers highlighting the institution's latest advancements:
1. "Plasma extracellular vesicle TDP-43 and hippocampal volume as complementary biomarkers for LATE-NC and hippocampal sclerosis: a pathologic validation study"
3. "Heterogeneity of FDG-PET patterns among tau-negative amnestic patients"
4. "Long-term cognitive and biomarker trajectories of cognitively unimpaired individuals with elevated plasma ptau-217"

These contributions reflect CIEN’s leadership in the development and validation of biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases, supported by key projects at the Center, such as the Vallecas Project and the VARS Project.
CIEN's participation in this event highlights its commitment to scientific excellence and its prominent role in global neurodegenerative disease research.
