Dr. Alberto Rábano, Director of the CIEN Tissue Bank (BT CIEN) and Head of the CIEN Neuropathology Platform, will participate in the International Congress on Lewy Body Dementia Research (INLEWY), which will take place from February 19 to 21, 2025, in Albacete, Spain. On Tuesday, February 20, Dr. Rábano will deliver a presentation titled “Brain Tissue Donation in Lewy Body Dementia: Extraction, Diagnosis, and Classification,” sharing his expertise and advancements in the study of this neurodegenerative disease.
The INLEWY Congress stands out as a key event for advancing research into Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), a condition that accounts for approximately 25% of all dementia cases worldwide. However, the diagnosis, management, and treatment of LBD remain significant challenges for the scientific and medical communities.
The mission of the congress is to bring together leading international experts in LBD, including psychiatrists, neurologists, neuropsychologists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, as well as highlighting the vital role of nurses. This multidisciplinary approach is essential to address the complex challenges posed by the disease and to foster the exchange of knowledge and experiences that can enhance patient care and quality of life.
