Yesterday, for the first time, a very special event was held: the official presentation of the 7th Memorables Film Festival, an event that the Centre for Research into Neurological Diseases (CIEN) has been promoting for the last seven years to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease and encourage research based on creativity and emotion.
Believe it or not, this was the first time that the festival was presented with its own event. A milestone that marks a before and after, and which demonstrates the growth and consolidation of a festival that, year after year, continues to grow in impact, prestige and commitment.
A festival that grows in emotion, in impact... and in memory.
The event was led by the actress and producer Eva Almaya, a friend of CIEN, who expressed with emotion her personal involvement:
‘When María Ángeles proposed to me to present this event, I didn't hesitate for a moment. To do my bit for a cause that brings together art, science and conscience is a real honour. And I can't think of a better way to start the festival than surrounded by so many people committed to memory... and to those who care for it’.
During the presentation, the new protagonist of the festival was also unveiled: Don Quixote of Memory.
A symbolic and poetic character who will henceforth represent the visual identity of Memorables.
‘The guardian of forgotten stories. The tireless wanderer of lost dreams. The wandering knight... of memory.’ This is how this new emblem was presented, which will occupy a prominent place on the festival's posters and image.
A festival with soul and in the heart of Madrid
We would especially like to thank CaixaBank for lending us this special space, which adds value to the festival.
We are in a privileged setting, in the heart of Madrid, in the emblematic Plaza de Colón, and this undoubtedly helps Memorables to continue growing, becoming more visible and reaching more and more people.
We would also like to acknowledge the support of Siemens Healthineers, whose collaboration makes it possible to continue advancing in the union between science and art to care for memory.
The Memorables Film Festival is growing in number of short films, in participation and visibility, but above all, it is growing in soul. Because what makes it truly unique is its ability to unite art and science, talent and commitment, film and memory.
From CIEN, thanks to all the people who have made this event possible and, especially, to those who year after year continue to bet on telling stories that should never be forgotten.
