VI edition of the Memorables Film Festival: A film gala to raise awareness about Alzheimer's

The Center for Research in Neurological Diseases (CIEN) and the Queen Sofía Foundation are hosting the 6th edition of the Memorables Film Festival, an event that aims to raise awareness about the impact of Alzheimer’s disease through the magic of cinema. This short film festival provides a unique opportunity to explore the complexities of the disease from different perspectives, showcasing how it affects both patients and their families and caregivers.

The Memorables Film Festival Gala will take place on Thursday, November 7, at 6:00 PM at the Queen Sofía Foundation Alzheimer’s Center, with Irma Soriano as the host. The event will feature screenings of short films in two sessions, followed by a panel discussion titled "Cinema and Memory," featuring renowned experts in film and science, including actress and producer Eva Almaya, our scientific director Pascual Sánchez Juan, and Alberto Rábano, director of the CIEN Tissue Bank.

The closing ceremony will honor the best productions with the prestigious Gold, Silver, and Bronze Neuronita awards for the most outstanding short films. Additionally, the contributions of collaborators and sponsors such as the Almería International Film Festival (FICAL), Fontventa, and Siemens Healthcare will be recognized for their support of this initiative.

Attendance at the gala requires prior confirmation before November 6 via comunicacion@fundacioncien.es.
